| Stand-alone heat driven air conditioners are available using natural gas,
propane and LPG. These regenerators
are multi-effect, meaning that the steam from the boiler is condensed releasing
its heat to remove additional water from the desiccant by evaporation. The
gas-driven air conditioner has a system CoP of 1.8 when outside conditions are
95°F and 64% relative humidity. The CoP rises with lower humidity. Seasonal
CoPs based on the severe conditions above should be 2.4 or higher but will vary
with the climatic conditions.
